At my age (let’s just say “older”) I have learned most of life’s lessons; at least, that’s what I tell my grandkids. But from time to time I need to be reminded.
Yesterday morning was a beautiful morning for a bike ride—cool, sunny, and no wind. I planned to ride but kept putting it off to do chores and errands.
By the time I got around to riding, in the later afternoon, it had started to rain. I rode anyway, but had to ride in a steady rain and distant thunder (see photo). If the thunder had gotten much closer I would have headed for home.
The lesson? Get your enjoyment while you can and put the chores off until later. No one ever lay on their death bed and thought, “I wish I had done more dusting.”
