In 1993 I rode the Headwaters 100 bike ride, a ride that had a 100-mile and a 100-km route. The photo shows Lee and me at the headwaters but is from the BAM ride. I just wanted to get the photo of the headwaters post. Their website says they now have three routes—100, 75, and 45 miles.
The ride starts and ends in Park Rapids, MN and the 100-mile route takes riders through Itaska State Park and past the headwaters of the Mississippi River.
It is held in the fall and the fall colors are really beautiful and fun to see as you ride through them.
Again, it is a one day ride through a beautiful part of Minnesota during a beautiful time of the year and a good way to test yourself to see how far you are comfortable riding.
